So Funny

13 months and 17 weeks

So I am a little behind, but just by a day. Yesterday Nathan turned 13 months old and I am (approximately) 17 weeks along. Time sure is flying.

So far vacation has been ok. I am so tired though. Some nights Nathan does really well and sleeps. Usually on those nights everything else is going haywire. Bessie wakes up and wants to go out. The cat is hogging the bed. David wakes me up when he goes to work. Other nights Nathan is up every freaking 90 minutes.

Last night we had a good run from 9:30 to 1:45. I of course woke up about 15 minutes before him. But then he woke up again at 3 and then again at 3:30. I gave him a bottle and he slept till almost 8. That was nice. But the fractured sleep is really wearing me down!

We won't find out the sex of this new baby until August 6th and the anticipation is killing me. I am definitely having some freaky dreams with this pregnancy, and within the last few days it is no longer comfy to sleep on my belly. Bummer. I tried to enjoy it as much as possible.

Nathan hasn't quite yet taken off walking but we can get him to take some steps if we are catching him. He still leads with his head and the look of his face is so funny I wish I could get a picture but it's hard when he is headed right for you.

Oh I forgot to tell you, I had to change the settings on comments because I was getting spammed. So you can only leave a comment if you use open id or google. Sorry. I will try and turn them back on in a month and see if the spammers have ceased. Not that there were so many comments anyway.... :(

16 weeks

I don't know if I am bigger now than with Nathan at this point but it sure feels like it.

This kid can eat!

Seriously, he is like a hollow kid. Today we had LJ, Robin and the kids over for a bbq. I made Nathan a grilled cheese sandwich. He CHOWED it down while I was trying to make my plate. He then ate a bowl of kiwi, a bowl of broccoli and then ate some beans. After that he needed a nap! Since he eats so much we are trying really hard to make sure that he is eating good stuff. Veggies, protein and fruits. Otherwise he's gonna be one of those 100 pound 3 year olds and CPS is gonna come grab him! I'm not too worried about the amount of food because he is not packing on the pounds. So apparently he just needs a lot of food to get through the day!

The kids spent the day swimming and playing in the water. I was hoping that he would just conk out but no, he's is currently screaming in his crib. I have been really torn about letting him scream but he is starting to think about sleeping through the night. I really need him to do this, mostly for me (honestly) but it will help him too. He needs to get more sleep. He slept for 7 hours straight the last two nights. Maybe tonight we can go for 8!

Food, cake and birthdays

I don't even know how to start this post so we'll just jump right in.

Nathan is doing well. He literally eats all day long. We fed him spaghetti tonight and as you can see from the pictures, more ended up on the floor than in the mouth. He is good at eating strawberries and kiwis though.

I had a good birthday. Mom watched Nathan and David and I went to the doctor where we heard the new baby's heart beat and then we went to Olive Garden. Then we had ice cream cake! I love ice cream cake!

Time marches on, and Nathan screams

That's right folks, that nice sweet little baby you remember? I don't know where he went! He now screams for everything. He wants what you have? Screams! He wants to feed himself? Screams! He wants to stand up while taking a bath and you won't let him? SCREAMS!!!! Can't say this is my favorite part of his behavior. Oh I forgot, I have to go pee and leave the room? Screams! Seriously.

Yesterday he was refusing to eat because he wanted to hold the spoon and bang it in the food. He did not make an attempt to put food in his mouth. I went and got some bowls that have suction cups on the bottom so he can just put his hands in the food and do what ever his heart desires. So far this seem to be working.

We went to Alb to see the swedes and don't you know we didn't get a single picture!

Today was his year check up. He is 25 pounds 3 ounces, 30.5 inches tall and his head is 48.5 cm. He needs to grow a little taller and lose the belly!

And he is slowly getting over his aversion to grass, but on his terms! Don't push it!
