Hello Wyatt!

I know this post is a long time coming. Every time I have a chance to sit down and type, I either find myself spacing out, or within two minutes Wyatt is crying for some food.

Today was my first day at home with both monsters all by myself. It went really well actually. Nathan did a really good job of entertaining himself today. He struggled at nap time but other than that, was a ray of happiness.

Wyatt is doing great. I wish he would eat some more, even though he has enough wet diapers, poops and all that. But my boobs are in overdrive, and he is not taking enough to make me comfortable. It is all about me after all! :) He is doing a good job of sleeping at night. Usually he goes about 3 hours at a time. I get really uncomfortable though. I'm torn over whether to let this play out, or whether I should pump. I think tomorrow I will call the LC and see what she says.

Enough jabbering, on to pictures!

I'm not even going to make excuses for not posting. Just been busy I guess, and tired, and hugely pregnant. :)

Nathan is doing well. He climbs everything in the house! Couch, dining room chairs, hearth, coffee table. The days are spent chasing him off of things and making sure that he doesn't decide to jump from the table. :) It's exhausting.

We have finally finished moving him into his new room. We put up the pictures, and the border today so its done. I would like to think that he likes it but honestly, I don't think he even notices.

I have had the whole week off form Thanksgiving and I have enjoyed it. I am having a little anxiety about the fact that we could have another little monster basically at any moment. Yikes! And all I really want is a good martini, maybe a chocolate one, with some chocolate mousse. That would be awesome!

Oh I can't end this post without mentioning Nathan's obsession with the remote control. He gets his dad to pick him up and they then wrestle over it. It's too funny. He is also obsessed with our phones, and my Ipod. I finally just bought him his own MP3 player so he can carry it around the house and listen to his music. He holds everything up to his ear like he's talking on the phone. It's very funny.

Ok enough for now. I think I'm going to chillax.

17 months

Crazy huh? Nathan is growing like crazy, and has just started saying some words. His favorite is car, followed by yeah! with a head nod. He's a funny kid!

Wyatt is also growing. I am very uncomfortable. I don't remember this with Nathan but I think there's a reason for that. A year of exhaustion and you start to forget everything!

Any one want a 16 month old?

Seriously, he is testing his boundaries. This doesn't work well when he's tired and I'm tired. I enjoyed my time in Albuquerque, and I enjoyed having two days at home with the kid. But I am tired and sore. This new baby is killing me! We had an appointment yesterday. Everything is going well. I was measuring a little small so I hope that next appointment I have grown a lot!

It's hard to take pictures of Nathan these days because he wants the camera so bad. So the following pics show what happens when he doesn't get the camera!

Oh and he loves the dust mop. You can't dust mop the house without letting him help. Of course once he's done, you have to dust mop all the hair up again!

We got a climber!

Nathan has discovered that he can climb onto chairs, and the couch and he does this every chance he gets. I know that we have tile floors and it will hurt him to fall but I really believe he has to do it. The more we try to discourage him the more he wants to do it.

He had a fever last week that we finally managed to break Monday morning. This was then followed up with a full body rash on Tuesday. I think (and the nurse at the pediatrician's office agrees) that it was most likely roseola. He still has a bit of the rash, but it never seemed to bother him. He is also cutting two new teeth. These will be teeth 13 and 14. Almost a full mouth. He just needs two more on the bottom and a few molars and he will be complete. These teeth are crooked. I am hoping that he doesn't get me wonderful orthodontics but who knows. Enough prattling on, I am going to bed.

The lion doesn't sleep here

That's right people, we still haven't solved the nightly sleep battle. Crying it out doesn't seem to work. He just gets all worked up and it takes that much longer to get him down. Plus, sometimes he cries so much he pukes. Never a good thing. Some nights it's like a miracle, he'll take his bottle and crash right out. Other nights it's a two hour battle just to get him to lay down. Tonight, well, we just finished the first hour....

He has been pretty sick for the last two weeks. I am not sure if it was a cold or allergies. He even went through a non-eating phase. Pretty strange for a kid that eats everything. He finally got over that, had a 102 fever for a few days, but now seems to be back to normal.

We have kinda settled on two names for the new baby. I'm not revealing yet because I am still pondering which one I like best...

He is finally waving bye on a regular basis. He will even wave when I am leaving him at the sitter, but then he runs over to me to get one last hug.

Torture the mommy

Why is it that Nathan will go to sleep well for David, for the sitter, for his grandmothers, but fights it all the time with me? I think it's just some sort of mind game he likes playing. He is currently throwing a hissy in the crib because he doesn't want to go to sleep. Too bad little dude.

He does sleep a lot on the weekends, I think to catch up on from the week. We have started putting him down earlier so he can get more sleep, and he takes two good naps at the sitter but he is usually ready for bed at about 7:30. Anyway...

Not much new is going on here. He is running around the house like a little monster. He does good with his balance but sometimes he runs into things. Today he ran right into the wall. It was funny but then he was really upset so no laughing. Maybe that's why he won't go to sleep for me. It's payback for laughing at him!

Who loves spaghetti?

So I know that you are supposed to let them try to feed themselves, but after two straight days of the dining room being covered in spaghetti, I couldn't take it anymore! :)

Yeah yeah yeah

I know, it's been forever since my last post. I have no excuse except I've been busy and Nathan has been crabby so I don't get a lot of time on the computer to post. We are working on getting him to go to bed earlier. Since I wake him up at 6:30, he should probably be going to bed much earlier than 9 pm. He's a monster now, walks everywhere. He's working on running and enjoys chasing Gizmo and Tater around the house. We keep him away from Bessie because she is really freaked out by him. She's not that smart!

He enjoys taking all his dirty clothes out of the basket. Actually, he enjoys doing anything that makes a mess!

It's a boy!

So we will have another little monster boy running around the house. Should be fun.

It's been an exciting week here. On Monday Nathan shared some peanut butter cookie with his father. A little while later he started coughing really bad. I picked him up and he was wheezing and his nose was running. We gave him some Benadryl and waited a few minutes but he wasn't getting better so we ran him to the ER. When we got there and got checked in he puked all over me. That was fun. They moved him back and gave him some adrenalin. That helped his breathing. IT then took four nurses 20 minutes and 4 sticks to get an IV started. That sucked. I wanted to beat them. Why were they torturing my baby? :) So three hours later we got out with epi-pens and a totally different view of food allergies. We saw the pediatrician today and basically he told us that we need to get rid of everything in the house that may have peanuts in it. And we have to carry the epi-pen where ever we go. We have an appointment with the allergist in two weeks. Hopefully he can clarify some things for us.

So enough with the crappy news, here are some pics!

Lazy ass

I've been meaning to post for a few days but every time I get Nathan down for a nap, there is this long list of things I need to accomplish and blogging is not really high on that list. Sweeping up the mounds of hair the dogs lose every freaking time they come in the house? That is usually #2 behind taking a shower!

Nathan is doing really well, but he has not mustered up the energy to take off walking just yet. He will use his walky walker and run around, he will move readily from couch to table, but if he wants to get from the kitchen to the living room, it's all crawling baby! I know that he will take off one day and never look back, but I still wonder what is holding him back. I figure when he goes back to the sitters and see the other baby trying to walk, he will join him.

It seems like summer has flown by but at the same time, during the day when I am trying so hard to be patient and not succumb to bitchy tiredness, it feels like it is dragging. I am just counting the minutes for David to get home so I can have some time to myself. Of course, it's usually only about 5 minutes and it may involve screaming but hey, I'm all alone.

We went to the midwife on Monday. The new baby is doing well. I am looking about 7 months pregnant instead of five, but she assures me that is normal for second babies, especially one so soon after the first. We got the ultrasound moved to July 27th so I don't have to take a day off of work. That is totally awesome. So hopefully in 11 days we can start the whole naming process. I have my big book of names ready!

Nathan is doing better at night. He will go down about 9 and sleep anywhere from 1 to 4, take a bottle and sleep till almost 8. I am still struggling to get more than 3 hours at a time. Damn bladder. Well, I better upload some pics. Nathan is getting restless.

So Funny

13 months and 17 weeks

So I am a little behind, but just by a day. Yesterday Nathan turned 13 months old and I am (approximately) 17 weeks along. Time sure is flying.

So far vacation has been ok. I am so tired though. Some nights Nathan does really well and sleeps. Usually on those nights everything else is going haywire. Bessie wakes up and wants to go out. The cat is hogging the bed. David wakes me up when he goes to work. Other nights Nathan is up every freaking 90 minutes.

Last night we had a good run from 9:30 to 1:45. I of course woke up about 15 minutes before him. But then he woke up again at 3 and then again at 3:30. I gave him a bottle and he slept till almost 8. That was nice. But the fractured sleep is really wearing me down!

We won't find out the sex of this new baby until August 6th and the anticipation is killing me. I am definitely having some freaky dreams with this pregnancy, and within the last few days it is no longer comfy to sleep on my belly. Bummer. I tried to enjoy it as much as possible.

Nathan hasn't quite yet taken off walking but we can get him to take some steps if we are catching him. He still leads with his head and the look of his face is so funny I wish I could get a picture but it's hard when he is headed right for you.

Oh I forgot to tell you, I had to change the settings on comments because I was getting spammed. So you can only leave a comment if you use open id or google. Sorry. I will try and turn them back on in a month and see if the spammers have ceased. Not that there were so many comments anyway.... :(
